Renée Green, Camino Road, 2021

Facsimile edition of Renée Green’s debut novel, on behalf of Primary Information in New York. First published in 1994, Camino Road layers intellectual genealogy, fictional personal memory, and cultural criticism and has been described by Green as a “self-conscious homage to or parody of the road novel”.

Management of print production and design:

Analysis of the original print production, signatures, caliper checks to interior and cover stocks, spine thickness, dimensions, inks and finishes. Sourcing of closest equivalent materials and processes.

Production specifications, quote production with print suppliers.

Image processing, editing and density settings for print.

Edits and corrections to the original text, replicating the original font and design treatment.

Masking of the original halftone and line art design elements, for separate treatments to avoid moiré while ensuring optimal image detail and text sharpness.

Recreation of colour separations from colour source scans, to precisely replicate the original front and back cover design treatment.

Retouching to print anomalies, surface and handling marks, and creasing in the disbound, scanned original source copy.

Updated colophon and title page to seamlessly follow the original font and design treatment.

Wet proofing, print-ready output, F&Gs.
