A two volume slipcased edition on behalf of Primary Information in New York. Compiling facimiles of the complete run of the publication, comprising twenty-nine issues. Edited by the artist Anne Turyn, Top Stories primarily featured female artists and served as a pivotal platform for experimental fiction and art from 1978 to 1991.
Management of print production and design:
Analysis of the original print production, caliper checks and paper sourcing, production specifications, quoting with print suppliers. Colour matching faithful to the originals. Masking of the original halftone and line art design elements, for separate treatments to avoid moiré while ensuring optimal image detail and text sharpness. Image processing, editing and density settings. Adjustments to formatting originally designed for saddle stitch binding, to create gutter safety area for binding of the new edition, in particular for the original cover designs. Retouching to print anomalies and handling marks in the scanned source copies. Front cover design development for the respective volumes. Profile correct Epson proofing, wet proofing, print-ready output, F&Gs.
